Q: What does Save On Meds do?
A: Save On Meds reviews your prescription and on your behalf (i) consults a local in country physician and obtains a prescription for the prescribed medication; (ii) has the prescription filled by a licensed pharmacist, and it facilitates shipping and packaging by the pharmacy. The pharmacy packages and ships your order to your address, for which we charge a shipping and handling fee as shown on our price list.
Q: Do I need a prescription?
A: Yes. You must provide a valid prescription from a physician licensed to practice medicine and to prescribe medications in the place where you live.
Q: How large a supply of my medication may I buy?
A: You may order only as much as your physician prescribes for you. And you can order no more than a three month supply with up to three refills at a time if that is what is prescribed for you.
Q: How do I order refills?
A: We will contact you by e-mail or phone before your supply runs out to inquire if you wish us to ship you a refill. All refills may be ordered simply by calling our toll-free customer service number at 1-888-949-0076 or sending an email to marty@saveonmeds.biz
Q: How do I change or cancel my order?
A: You may change or cancel a new order within 24 hours of placing it. Refills are processed as soon as received and cannot be cancelled or changed. Please note that for safety reasons medications cannot be returned..
Q: Why can’t I buy Valium, Vicodin or other similar drugs?
A: Save On Meds will not handle habit forming or narcotic pharmaceuticals, also known as scheduled drugs or controlled substances in some countries. We specialize in chronic care medicines that many people must take to sustain or improve their life.
Q: Will you accept my insurance?
A: We cannot accept insurance coverage from another country. However, we will provide you with a receipt so that you may make an insurance claim. We gladly accept Visa, MasterCard, and money orders.
Q: Why do I have to fill out a history form?
A: Because the pharmacists and physicians that we use cannot see you in person, they need to be able to assess your prescription and the potential drug interactions based upon the information you provide to them. They may even contact your physician if necessary.
Q: Are these the same quality drugs that I can buy at home?
A: Our pharmacies are located in countries with exceptionally high standards, rigorous approval system and stringent manufacturing requirements for pharmaceuticals. Many of the drugs sold in Canada and overseas are exactly the same as those sold in the U.S. and other industrialized nations. Others are manufactured in Canada or elsewhere. Some may even have a different name or look different than the one you are familiar with (e.g. in Canada, the U.S. drug "Prilosec" is called "Losec" and is a pill rather than a capsule, even though it is the same drug made by the same manufacturer). Save On Meds will not send you a pharmaceutical product that does not have an approved version in your country of residence.
Q: Why can I buy generic drugs from Canada and overseas that are not available where I live?
A: Because of differences in patent laws outside the US produces generic versions of brand name drugs that are not available in the US. These versions are often available in Canada and overseas many years earlier than in the US and usually offer substantial savings over brand names.
Q: Who makes generic drugs and are they safe?
A: The generic drugs produces in Canada and overseas are subject to the same stringent approval and regulatory processes as brand name drugs and are used safely by millions of citizens on a daily basis. The manufacturers are large well respected multinational companies including: Apotex, Novopharm, Genpharm, and Pharmascience.
